ASHOA News:

from Brian Tye

The Desert Island Discs evening raised £180 for the Scout's International Friendship Fund, which we rounded up to £200 with

money from donations. In addition, we are making donations of £300 to Disasters Emergency Committee for their Myanmar (Burma) Typhoon

Appeal, and £150 each to Stort Valley Schools Trust and Water Aid.

Our next event is the Summer (?) Barbecue taking place on the 13th July at 8 All Saints' Close, the home of Harold and Margaret Rush,

who are kindly allowing us use of their garden. Last year this was a very successful event so we hope those who didn't make it last year will do so

this time.

It is in aid of The Samaritans and will start at 1.30 for 2.00 pm.

Guyana Link News:

    from Mary Bateman

We are delighted to tell you that we have heard from the Kabakaburi Nursery School Supervisor, Clothilde Gonsalves, that all the parcels arrived safely and their contents have now been distributed to the needy families.

We are very grateful to Clothilde, who has been taking responsibility for distributing your gifts to the needy for over ten years. We are now asking for your help again, please, as we wish to send another consignment. We have in mind the following:

-         children’s cotton clothing, household linen (pillow slips, sheets) and towels (not too large), and

-         soft toys, skipping ropes, chalk, felt tip pens and pencils…and toilet soap would be rather nice!

Any of the committee members would be pleased to hear from you and we can arrange to collect your gifts if you wish.

Thank you all for your generous support.  We could not operate without you.

God bless you.
