What's On
All Saints' is a lively Anglican church in the Catholic tradition of the Church of England.
We work closely with the other Christian Churches in Bishop's Stortford. Here you will find information about up coming
events and what is happening within the Parish. Also, we have many activities and
groups which you may care to learn about and perhaps join.
Forthcoming Events
Lent Groups This year All Saints, together with other churches in the town, will be hosting ecumenical home groups, so that our discussions will be enriched by those of different Christian traditions. These will be on the theme of 'Handing on the Torch'. If ever there was a short course relevant to our needs today, this is it:
'Christianity is the largest movement our world has ever seen. It continues to grow at an immense pace - especially in Asia (including China), Africa and Latin America. At the same time, Christianity in the West struggles to grow and - perhaps - even to survive. In this course we consider some of the reasons for this and what it might mean for individual Christians, for churches and for Western culture, in a world where alternative beliefs are increasingly on offer.'
The five sessions will tackle the following questions and themes: A Christian Country? A Secular Society? A Beleaguered Church? Competing Creeds? Handing on the Torch.
To underline how important this is to our life and mission, in addition, Fr Toby will lead a session on 'Handing on the Torch' every Wednesday evening at 8.00pm during Lent. (February 29, March 7, March 14, March 21, and March 28).These will be held in St Michael's Church.
Lent Talks As last year the three town churches will gather together at 12.30pm in St Michael's on Thursdays in Lent March 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29) for addresses by the parish clergy of all three churches, followed by a simple soup lunch.
